California state job eligibility

I am interested in applying job @ jobs.ca.gov - became a registered architect a couple years ago. A little confused about the process. To establish the eligibility, one has to pass an examination first - what kind of examination? - similar to ARE and Supplemental Exam? Anyone has experience?
