Change Orders --Extension of time

Change Orders --Extension of time

A201 8.3.1 deals with delays and extension of time via change order. I am curious to know how this actually works in practice. G701 does provide for an explanation of the change but most of the line items have to do with adjustment of the contract amount. I always viewed the C/O as a device to adjust the cost of work in the contract. It seems a little odd that it is used to stipulate a change in schedule/time.... unless the details are quantified by dollar amount in an attachment or exhibit or something.

It's not strange at all.

A change order is used to change 3 items: the work, cost, and time. Any one, two, or all can change.
