Phased out Contract Docs?

So - my question is: Which documents should we focus on when documents have been phased out; should we understand the old documents (ie B141/B101 or B727/B102)? I will likely navigate all this and learn both but how does the test operate; are the questions only updated every ten years or is there more to it than that?
