This is my first attempt at NCARB 4.0. Please leave a comment and let me know what you think. Thanks.

Calcs

Lab
Ceiling: 15'-0"
Duct: 1'-8"
Joist: 2'-8"

First Floor
Ceiling: 8'-4"
Duct: 2'-0"
Joist: 2'-0"

Second Floor
Ceiling: 9'-0"
Duct: 1'-8"
Joist: 2'-0"

A question I do have is in regards to the Duct Space on First Floor. I have seen posts where it is said that the duct space should be 1'-8", but I understand that the ceiling heights are all the same on first floor as well as the 2nd Floor slab level needing to be the same, as no stairs or step downs or ramps are shown on the second floor plan. To determine the height, in this scenario, is it not the greatest combination of Duct space and Joist space from the entire first floor area outside of the Lab (which is a 24" duct and a 24" joist? If not, please help me understand where the "cut off" is to determine duct space required in a particular part of the "Rest of First Floor". Thanks

You must use the largest joist/duct combination. That means co-located joist/duct pairs. Your numbers are correct.
Do the 3.1 vignette for more of a challenge.
