Ncarb 3.1 (cut through the elevator)

Postby chihirokawaii » Thu Aug 21, 2014 10:31 am

I notice there are many ncarb 3.1 alts laying around so i'd assume the location of the cut line is different on each practice vignette. Please review my solution. Thanks

I have not seen this one personally, but with the cut line going through the elevator shaft, I would think that there would be no floor in the shaft at the start of the second level. The shaft would have bearing walls and would look like the open meeting space theoretically. You all, please correct me if I am wrong.

That's why we practice, right?? We can get it all out of the way now and not during the test :)

I am pretty sure you have not properly calculated the correct joist/duct heights.

On the second floor there is a larger joist just south of the section cut line that would make the duct/joist area larger than you have drawn.
